Coming Soon: Al Stewart's Back to the Bedsit Tour

Sheffield City Hall
Wednesday 26 April 2017

If we look back to the hedy days of the 1960s folk scene, to a time when early folk clubs such as Les Cousins and Bunjie's Coffee Bar and Folk Cellar fed our bohemian musical appetite, Glasgow-born Al Stewart, would have been very much a part of that scene. A stalwart of the bedsit generation, who cites Bob Dylan and old room mate Paul Simon as major influences Al Stewart became one of the most popular performers, going on to record a catalogue of critically acclaimed albums such as LOVE CHRONICLES, ZERO SHE FLIES, ORANGE, PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE and YEAR OF THE CAT. For this tour, aptly named the Back to the Bedsit tour, Al revisits his debut album of 1967 BEDSITTER IMAGES along with Dave Nachmanoff, Tim Renwick and Marc Macisso.

At the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall in London at the beginning of April, Al Stewart received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award, where he also performed On the Border from his classic album YEAR OF THE CAT.
