The Faces - Stay With Me (Warner Brothers K16136 - 1971)

It's hard to believe that it's almost 45 years since I first heard The Faces performing the Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood song Stay with Me, which I would mime to relentlessly in my bedroom, yelling before the mirror and wielding a tennis racquet, assuming the role of both Rod and Ronnie in one go. The song was one of the first UK top ten singles to truly reflect the trashy rock and roll lifestyle of the time, it's all 'red lips, hair and fingernails', whilst the singer is 'found down on the floor'. I remember parties like that! This is Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones at their shambolic best.
