Johnny Guitar Watson - Three Hours Past Midnight (RPM Records 455 - 1956)

I have to confess that I didn't hear this Texan guitarist's classic 1956 single until much later when I heard Frank Zappa cite the single as a major influence during the musician's formative years, who referred to the single's sneering guitar intro. It’s one of those singles you can imagine being played on late night juke boxes in the South. The single failed to make the charts on either side of the Atlantic, but remains a memorable single nonetheless, and probably largely due to Zappa’s patronage.
