Jimi Hendrix Experience - Voodoo Chile (Track 2095 001 - 1968)

The memory of marching up to the counter at Foxes Records in Doncaster with six shillings in my hand, demanding that they hand over with all speed the latest single release by the Jimi Hendrix Experience is likely to stay with me forever. The single, which could really be categorised as an EP, the record having two tracks on the B side, Billy Roberts' Hey Joe and Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower, was one of the first records to be added to my growing collection that ventured outside the confines of what could be described as pop music, stepping into the new-found rock territory. It was alkso one of the first records to hit the Dansette that my dad just couldn't cope with, and that probably made me love it even more.
