In the mid-1970s the radio was dominated by the sound of the West Coast with such bands as The Doobie Brothers and The Eagles lightening up a previously hard rock based landscape. Little Feat were slightly less known at the time but had started to gain a reputation as a first rate live band. Although the band’s fourth LP FEATS DON’T FAIL ME NOW is a studio album, the band clearly attempted to capture their distinctive live sound in the eight songs, which even featured a ten minute medley returning to two songs from their second album SAILIN’ SHOES, with Cold Cold Cold and Tripe Face Boogie. One of the songs from the album, Oh Atlanta, appeared on the Warner Brothers sampler LP The Warner Brothers Music Show in 1975, which could be picked up at the bargain price of just 59p and which ultimately led me to this LP, which has since taken pride of place in my collection.
