Ange Hardy - The Lament of the Black Sheep (Story Records)

The third studio album by Somerset-born singer Ange Hardy is made up entirely of self-penned songs that could quite easily be mistaken for traditional English folk songs. Ange's command over the pen and the melody is demonstrated with great effect on all fourteen songs, each title suggesting 'the' definite article. There's a sense of 'family' throughout the album, starting with a photograph of her great-grandfather on the cover, indicating the family's to the farm.
